GOOD FOOD, GOOD MUSIC

One of Pretoria's highest rated restaurants, La Pentola in Rivieria, recently matched their outstanding food with comparable sound.

Chef-owner Shane Sauvage is renowned for his uncanny ability to match food to wine, making for exquisite dining experiences and after ten years it was time to find a match for the background music.

V2 Audio's Ken Crossley specified an Australian Monitor Installation Series system to provide even coverage throughout the separate smoking and non-smoking areas of La Pentola. Six AMIS Install30s covers the non-smoking area and another four supply sound to the smaller smoking area.

The system had to not only provide for background music, but also had to provide clear even coverage for speech during the regular wine evenings where Shane discusses the food and the wine makers explain the wines that will be served.

An Audio-Technica ATW-1452 hand held radio microphone was supplied as it provides for excellent gain before feedback and clarity on a large variety of voices.

An AMIS ZRM4 zone routing mixer is at the centre of the system providing inputs for background music and the microphone with total control over the levels in the smoking and non-smoking areas as well as controlling the existing sound system feeding the toilets and kitchens. Two amplifiers drive the Install30s, an AMIS 120P and an AMIS 1202P.
